Position Description

We're looking for an Medical-Device Software Platform engineer with a foot in both worlds: someone who has built or maintained embedded C software on Linux or QNX, and who has since grown into owning CI/CD pipelines and build & release processes for that kind of product. It's a build & release engineering role for embedded, regulated (medical device) systems, and prior exposure to embedded development is essential to succeed in it.

Key Responsibilities

  • Architect and develop solutions that overcome technical limitations in embedded build, test, and deployment processes, ensuring scalability and reliability
  • Design, implement, and optimize CI/CD pipelines and workflows for embedded software product development
  • Lead migration and management of DevOps tooling such as GitLab and Jenkins
  • Contribute directly to embedded software development activities alongside pipeline and tooling work
  • Provide technical mentorship to junior and mid-level engineers
  • Identify gaps in current processes, recommend improvements, and execute solutions to boost efficiency
  • Collaborate across multiple projects, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability to changing requirements and technologies
  • Troubleshoot issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective action
  • Integrate Johnson & Johnson's Credo and Leadership Imperatives into team goals and decision-making

Workplace: Remote based role in LATAM, preferably in Argentina

Must Have Skills:

  • B.S. / M.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Hands-on experience developing embedded software in C, on Linux, QNX, or another Unix-like real time OS
  • Experience in the medical device industry, or another regulated/safety-critical industry (automotive, aerospace, industrial)
  • Practical experience owning or building CI/CD pipelines using GitLab and/or Jenkins
  • Working proficiency in Python and Bash for tooling and automation
  • Proven ability to architect and implement pipelines, workflows, and software systems end to end

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with Jira and JAMA, or equivalent project management / requirements management tools
  • Familiarity with compliance and security scanning tools in a regulated software environment (e.g., IEC 62304, FDA software validation)
  • Exposure to a variety of languages and frameworks beyond C, demonstrating technical versatility.

Professional Skills:

  • Self-motivated and proactive, capable of working independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong team leadership and collaboration skills, comfortable engaging stakeholders and management directly
  • Able to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, project-driven environment
  • Fast learner, comfortable picking up new languages, frameworks, and technologies as needed
  • Able to spot gaps in process or tooling and clearly articulate the fix

Bridgenext is an Equal Opportunity Employer
