We are looking for a Feature Architect to support application architecture for an enterprise, multi-tenant platform in the tax domain with multiple concurrent delivery streams.
This role focuses on product and integration architecture rather than greenfield infrastructure architecture. You will guide how features are designed and integrated across systems, drive consistency across teams, and ensure secure, maintainable, and scalable outcomes.
AI capability ownership is part of this role at the application level, including agentic workflows and the evolving agentic operator scope. You will collaborate closely with AI engineers and technical leads to ensure architecture decisions are practical, auditable, and delivery-ready.
This is not a documentation-only architecture role. We are looking for an architect who can write and critique specs, influence implementation decisions, and provide strong cross-workstream technical oversight.
Workplace: This is a remote opportunity open to candidates residing in Argentina or Columbia only
What You Will Do:
- Own architecture for assigned feature streams from specification through delivery
- Define application and integration design patterns across frontend, backend, APIs, data, and external systems
- Drive reuse-versus-build decisions for existing platform assets, native-app patterns, and shared components
- Review and refine specifications and technical plans for clarity, feasibility, and architectural alignment
- Establish practical architecture guardrails that enable delivery speed without over-engineering
- Own architecture direction for AI-enabled application capabilities, including tool orchestration boundaries and tenant-safe context handling
- Define how agent tools are exposed, gated, and governed across user context, role, and tenant boundaries
- Help shape the agentic operator implementation model, interfaces, and control points at feature level
- Partner with team leads to break architecture into incremental, deliverable slices
- Identify cross-workstream dependencies and integration risks early, and support mitigation planning
- Ensure non-functional requirements are addressed, including security, reliability, observability, and operational supportability
- Validate implementation alignment with agreed architecture patterns and integration contracts
- Contribute to architecture checkpoints, pull request quality gates, and Definition of Done standards
How We Work:
- Architecture participates from specification and planning stages, not only at final review.
- We work in pods with feature ownership and close collaboration across architecture, engineering, QA, and product.
- We use structured technical reviews, protected branches, and green CI as merge requirements.
- We combine AI-assisted delivery with mandatory human technical review for architecture-impacting changes.
- We optimize for delivery speed, risk coverage, maintainability, and long-term platform consistency.
Must Have Skills:
- Own Architecture or senior technical design roles for enterprise applications
- Strong understanding of application architecture, system integration, and API-driven design
- Experience working in multi-team delivery models with cross-functional collaboration
- Practical experience writing and reviewing technical specifications, architecture notes, and design documentation
- Hands-on understanding of multi-tenant concepts, including isolation of data, configuration, and contextual boundaries
- Working knowledge of secure design fundamentals, including role-based access control, secret handling, and least-privilege access patterns
- Practical experience with AI agent implementations in production-grade applications
- Experience with MCP-style tool ecosystems, including tool exposure, context-aware gating, and controlled tool orchestration
- Practical understanding of RAG-backed application features, including retrieval-context design and grounding patterns
- Experience integrating with Azure services, including SQL, Key Vault, and AI services
- Experience working within CI/CD workflows, pull request review practices, and release governance
- Strong communication skills with the ability to align engineering, product, and stakeholder groups
- Pragmatic technical judgment with focus on delivery, maintainability, and risk control
Preferred Skills:
- Experience defining and monitoring AI quality metrics in production, such as precision, recall, groundedness, hallucination rate, and answer relevance
- Experience designing evaluation strategies for AI-enabled features, including golden datasets, semantic assertions, and LLM-as-judge approaches
- Deeper understanding of RAG quality levers, including chunking strategies, embedding and vectorization choices, retrieval tuning, and context-window optimization
- Experience implementing observability for AI behavior, including traceability of prompts, tool calls, retrieval steps, and failure patterns
- Experience in tax, financial services, or other regulated domains with strong traceability and audit requirements
- Experience with asynchronous integration patterns such as queues, jobs, retries, and workflow orchestration
- Experience collaborating with QA/SDET teams on testability architecture for complex and non-deterministic behavior
- Experience supporting pod-based delivery models with multiple technical leads
Professional Skills:
- Solid written, verbal, and presentation communication skills
- Strong team and individual player
- Maintains composure during all types of situations and is collaborative by nature
- High standards of professionalism, consistently producing high quality results
- Self-sufficient, independent requiring very little supervision or intervention
- Demonstrate flexibility and openness to bring creative solutions to address issues
